Vehicle and recovery equipment illustrating the work behind a recovery quote

Why there is no single recovery price

A short journey does not always mean a simple recovery. A vehicle that cannot roll, a restricted entrance or a larger vehicle can change what a driver needs to bring and how the job can be carried out. Quartz does not publish a fixed national tariff: independent drivers assess the request and set their quotes.

Enter the actual pickup, destination and vehicle condition to compare available quotes for your job. A headline price from an unrelated example cannot tell you what your recovery will cost. Submitting a request does not guarantee a suitable driver or a quote.

The details that shape the quote

The collection and delivery locations establish the journey, but distance is not the only consideration. Vehicle dimensions, damage, steering, brakes and whether the wheels can move may affect equipment and loading. A car in an underground car park can present a different access problem from the same car beside a clear driveway.

Describe known restrictions rather than assuming they are included. Tell drivers about height limits, narrow entrances, missing keys and receiving arrangements at the destination. Do not test a damaged vehicle or move into traffic just to answer a booking question; explain what you know and what is uncertain.

  • Correct collection and destination
  • Vehicle registration, size and condition
  • Keys, wheels, steering and any known damage
  • Access restrictions and destination arrangements

Review the complete payable total

In Quartz, the customer sees the complete payable quote before payment. This includes the driver's quoted service and Quartz's remuneration for facilitating the booking. Compare that total alongside the arrival estimate, scope and any passenger allowance rather than comparing only one component.

Arrival estimates remain estimates. A lower price or earlier estimate is not a substitute for a driver understanding the vehicle and being able to carry out the agreed work safely. Clarify uncertain requirements through the platform before committing.

If the job changes after quoting

A different destination, newly discovered damage or additional work may change the scope. Raise changes through the booking or support and follow the applicable agreement process; do not assume they are included or that a driver can undertake them.

Cancellation and refund outcomes depend on the applicable terms and circumstances. Read the customer terms and use the booking-specific support route rather than relying on a general guide as a refund promise.
